Keeping up with Current Events

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Keeping up with the changing world is one good way to be a top SEO Guru. I recently was thrown into the spotlight lately when Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast and nearly wiped New Orleans off of the map. I was called to put up several pages for the USGS National Wetlands Research Center in response to their search and rescue efforts after the hurricane. I had to use the websites existing code so many SEO tricks could not be used. I did however, use my knowledge about the current events and pop culture when writing my text and that helped my pages shoot to the first page for almost every Katrina related term.

The point I am trying to make is that to be a truly successful SEO you need to have a vast knowledge of many topics.

One of the Most Challenging SEO Task

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

Keeping up with the news!
As a veteran SEO guru I tend to spend most of my time creating and promoting great websites. This is where your time is best spent. Before I built up my confidence in my SEO abilities I would spend hours a day(yes I said hours) reading what other people were writing on thier blogs etc. While this information is useful, your time would be better spent actually doing something productive.

I don’t like to advocate many places to go catch up on news, but I feel that Todd Malicoat of We Build Pages has a great arsonal of links at Bloglines. HE is one of the most well respected SEOers out there and if you wanted to read something thiese are the best sites to read. Although he does not link to my blog:-(

Introducing the Website Marketing Blog

Thursday, April 20th, 2006

I have moved my blog formally at Comit Technologies to this address to have a more professional look. If you are a regular reader to my blog you will notice a little difference in that I am no longer tied down by the company policies on blogging. I will now be able to give a more in depth viewpoint of website marketing, particularly SEO.
Enjoy
